On the football pitch I knew John to be a great team-mate and a tough opponent. Off the park he was one of life's gentleman and a good friend to us all. Quite simply, one of the good guy's, he will be sorely missed.

A Real Nice Man, Had Several Pleasures in Playing in a Medal Round of Golf With John at Balwearie and remember him telling me a few Stories of His Days Playing Bools, and We Chatted a few times of the Glorious Hibs My Thoughts with All John’s Family

Used to play football with John and had nights out in Edinburgh as part of our wee group of friends, will be sorely missed

Well what can l say about someone who has been in my life since school days. John (always Bun to me) was one of my lifelong friends and became a great friend to my wife too, we will miss him dearly. Gail and l are so glad we met up with John and Fiona a few weeks ago to catch up and as usual had a great time. l have so many great memories which l have revisited in my mind in recent days, rest in piece Bun. Our thoughts are with you Fiona and Hannah, we are here if you need us.

John used to come in for a beer with work mates was a lovely gentleman thinking of his family

I knew John a short time from walking football, always a pleasant gentleman that will be sadly missed by all. My thoughts too family at this sad time.

Played a regular game of 5s with John years ago at Kirkland HS. A genuinely lovely guy. Really sorry to hear of his passing. Thoughts are with his family.
